As a second-generation family business owner, leader, and coach, I’ve lived the journey of leadership—facing challenges, overcoming obstacles, and building a purpose-driven life. Working side by side with my father, Lou Cannata, Sr., for over 30 years, we built one of the most respected automotive repair and maintenance businesses in Central New York and were recognized nationally by AAA as a top shop. Most importantly, to add to the family business my father founded in 1976, we shared a fantastic relationship—both personally and professionally. He was my first coach and mentor, and I proudly carry on his legacy.

In addition, I specialize in leading business succession to family members or key organizational leaders, helping businesses transition smoothly while preserving core values and culture. Through my experience and the wisdom of visionary mentors and thought leaders, I’ve distilled the key principles of leadership success into actionable strategies that I now share with clients. I’m also a dedicated husband and father to three children, and I believe that true leadership begins at home. My journey has taught me the immeasurable value of accountability, integrity, and preparation—values I strive to live every day.

As a soft-spoken leader, I’ve learned to lead not with volume, but with clarity, conviction, and consistency. By aligning my goals with my purpose, I’ve unlocked a level of motivation and energy like I’ve never experienced before—and I help others do the same. And there’s one more thing I’ve always been known for: my smile. I smile often—and with purpose. It’s a reflection of my deep desire to bring joy to others. My purpose in life is to make people smile. I’ve been told time and time again that my smile brings a smile to others. It’s a small act that creates a powerful ripple effect of positivity—and that’s leadership, too.
